Thomas Walker Convalescent Hospital

Thomas Walker Convalescent Hospital is an historic building located in Concord, Sydney and was opened in 1893 as a free convalescent hospital to the people of Sydney, a gift from Thomas Walker himself.

First Class Slate Roofing was engaged by the NSW Government to refurbish the boat house at Thomas Walker Convalescent Hospital. The boat house roof was badly leaking due to years of neglect. We carried out extensive leadwork to the tower, installed new lead valleys and replaced the tiles using Boral Marseille tiles. We also replaced the gutters and downpipes and custom made the copper rainwater heads as original.
